A Bahraini woman recently filed a lawsuit against her husband with the Public Prosecution, after he allegedly cheated on her by stealing BD10, 000 from her bank account to travel with his girlfriend.
According to the woman’s Defence Attorney, Fatima BinRajab, the complainant discovered that her husband travelled with another woman, after informing her that he’s going on a religious trip.
The woman also claimed that BD10, 000 was withdrawn by her husband from her bank account, after he apparently took advantage of the fact that he works in the same bank to forge her signature. The man was fired by the bank for forgery.
“The woman reported the matter to Khamis Police Station and the man was apprehended. In front of the Public Prosecution, she has demanded a divorce from her husband, after accusing him of forgery,” said Ms BinRajab.
The matter was referred to the Family and Child Prosecution, where the wife waived the complaint after her husband paid her half of the amount and promised to pay the remaining after he serves his sentence.
The duration of his imprisonment was not mentioned in the news report.
