Bahrain: KFCA Denies Launch of Tender For Second Causeway Project
The King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA) denied that it launched a tender for the second causeway project between the two kingdoms during next March. Sources added that the KFCA official statement came in reply to what has been circulated on various social media accounts regarding this matter which, they noted, attributed to the KFCA CEO. Sources assured that no official statement in this regard has been issued.
It is noteworthy that the KFCA had recently issued a prepaid membership card for travelers. The authority stated that the card “Frequent Travelers’ Card”, grants a 15% reduction in transit fees and is available to all nationalities. The KFCA stated that individuals and companies can now take advantage of this feature, and pay through various means like Visa and MasterCard. The authority pointed out that all it requires to take advantage of this service is a copy of the national ID card or residence, in addition to paying the minimum charges which are BD50.
