Bahrain: Man swindles woman out of BD40,000 worth of valuables

A 63-year-old Bahraini woman was swindled out of BD40,00 worth of valuables (money, gold, jewellery and phones) in a scam run by a 49-year-old man, who is now in police custody. Crime scene evidence and CCTV footage helped police identify the suspect, who also had a previous criminal background.

However, it is not clear how the man persuaded the woman to trust him with her money. The Southern Governorate Police Directorate said they took all legal measures to refer the suspect to public prosecution.
