Bahrain: Midday outdoor work ban set to start next week

The government has announced a ban on outdoor labour during peak heat hours, set to take effect next week.

The move aims to safeguard worker health and safety.

The measure, which prohibits work in direct sunlight and high-temperature areas from 12pm to 4pm during July and August, will mitigate the risks of heat-related illnesses and workplace accidents.

The decision comes as the Kingdom grapples with soaring summer temperatures and oppressive humidity.

Government officials assert that the ban will significantly reduce heat stress, sunstroke, and other heat-related health issues among the workforce.
