Bahrain: More Than 300 Vendors Caught Violating Coronavirus Precautions

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed Al-Zayani revealed that 358 commercial violations were recorded, including 311 violations of non-compliance with coronavirus precautions, 34 prices violations and 13 other violations.

Al-Zayani stressed that vegetables and fruit suppliers were directed to supply the local market with goods without there being a shortage and that the ministry is monitoring all local markets to ensure stable product prices and availability.

He mentioned that with regard to increasing the prices of some commodities of vegetables and fruits and storing them unjustly, warehouses designated for storing fruits and vegetables were verified, and interrogation testimonies referred the case to the Public Prosecution, indicating that the accused were investigated and that goods were seized.
