Bahrain: New environment law to go into force September 15

The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has announced that law (7) of 2022 on the environment will go into force starting from today, Thursday, September 15.

The council noted that the new environment law aims to protect the environment and its sources from all activities and practices causing pollution and the degradation of the environment and biodiversity.

The law also aims to preserve the environmental resources and develop them to serve the goals of sustainable development and biodiversity within the territorial borders of the Kingdom of Bahrain. It includes 125 articles which are the result of the tireless work of those who contributed to updating the environment draft law through fruitful cooperation between the executive and legislative branches.

The council called on all relevant parties, companies and individuals for further cooperation to promote the environmental work and achieve the desired goals.
