Interior Ministry’s Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, announced introducing residency services to other NPRA e-services via the government portal Bahrain.bh, in cooperation with the Information and eGovernment Authority.
The step aims to facilitate the application and processing of residency applications electronically without clients needing to go to the concerned directorates. The new service will save time and effort for the beneficiaries of the NPRA services.
During a meeting with the CEO of the Information and eGovernment Authorities, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Assistant Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residency, Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and the Vice Chief Executive of the Information and eGovernment Authority, Dr Zakaraya Al Khaja, the NPRA Undersecretary said that the launch of the new service was part of the Interior Ministry’s efforts to automate services provided to the public, improve performance efficiency, and achieve integration between various government directorates in line with the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
He said the service covers Bahrain’s companies and organisations and all residents of Bahrain, noting that the launch of the service is a turning point in the digital transformation services.
The service allows clients to issue, renew or cancel residency permits and renew the grace period.
The NPRA Undersecretary said that 90% of NPRA applications had undergone digital transformation and that efforts will continue to introduce more development initiatives to achieve total digital transformation.
