Bahrain opens registration for Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme

The application windows are now open for the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme, which is now in its 8th edition. Applications are accepted now, and the deadline ends on the 13th of September 2022, said the PM’s office in a statement. The Fellowship is for young Bahraini professionals working in the public sector.

Till now, almost 90 applicants have received the Fellowship. Selected individuals will spend a year working as full-time research fellows in the Prime Minister’s Office, benefiting from advanced training in writing skills, research methods and policy analysis, both in-house and through the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration.

Fellows will also benefit from the opportunity to interact with – and learn from – decision-makers at the highest levels of government. Following this, the fellows will return to their ministries where they will remain the points of contact for the Prime Minister’s Office. “The programme reflects the far-reaching visions of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthen and develop human capital,” Hamad Yaqoob Al Mahmeed, the Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office, said, the previous editions, he said, contributed to furthering public sector work streams and achieving wide-ranging development goals.

Eligibility criteria call for the applicants to be a government employee, fully bilingual, have a grade below Section Head, hold at least a Bachelor’s University degree, well-read, up to date on current affairs, capable of critical analysis, and willing to work shifts and on weekends for a year.
