Bahrain: Over 7 restaurants shut down over COVID-19 violations

Seven restaurants located in Muharraq, the Northern and Capital Governorates have been shut down for one week for flouting the mandatory precautionary measures for combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Ministry of Health coordinated the closure of the outlets with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

The Public Health Directorate (Food Control Section) at the Ministry of Health, inspected 274 restaurants and cafés on the first and second days of Eid Al Fitr, in coordination with the  Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

Food Control inspectors warned other outlets across the governorates of Bahrain after spotting a number of violations that were addressed immediately.
