Bahrain Prohibits Sale of Unpasteurised Milk

The Ministry of Health urged shopkeepers not to display or sell raw, unpasteurized milk and related products from unknown sources “Sell milk and milk products only from shops licensed by the Ministry of Health,” a statement said.

The ministry has emphasized that only milk products that have undergone appropriate treatment to eliminate microbes and are packaged properly should be sold. It has also warned against selling products that do not indicate their source, as milk is a highly perishable food with a high risk of contamination.
