Bahrain records 1,155 new Covid-19 cases, 7 deaths

Out of 17,068 Covid-19 tests carried out on 16 April 2021, 1,155 new cases have been detected among 419 expatriates, 684 contacts of active cases, and 52 travel related.

There were 1,020 recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 150,179.


Seven deaths were recorded among three male citizens aged 66, 53, and 46, four female citizens aged 82, 52, 49, and 46. No further information was provided on whether they suffered any pre-existing conditions.

There are currently 86 cases in critical condition, and 162 cases receiving treatment. 11,243 are stable out of a total of 11,329 active cases.
