Bahrain records 1,706 new Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths

Out of 16,822 Covid-19 tests carried out on 7 May 2021, 1,706 new cases have been detected among 624 expatriate workers. 1,066 new cases are contacts and 16 travel related.

There were 1,030 recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 173,036.


Four deaths were recorded among two female citizens aged 75 and 52, one male expatriate aged 44, and one female expatriate aged 43. No information was provided on whether they suffered any pre-existing conditions.

There are currently 119 cases in critical condition, and 223 receiving treatment. 12,574 are stable out of a total of 12,693 active cases.
