Bahrain records 2,719 new COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths

Out of 17,679 COVID-19 tests carried out on 22 May 2021, 2,719 new cases have been detected among 877 expats, 1,805 new cases are contacts and 37 travel related.

There were 1,815 recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 193,337.

Fifteen deaths were recorded yesterday among five female citizens aged 56, 49, 68, 70, and 67; four male citizens aged 71, 46, 67, and 96; one female expat aged 47; five male expats aged 67, 50, 45, 36 and 46.

No further information was provided on whether they suffered any pre-existing conditions.

There are currently 199 cases in critical condition, and 394 cases receiving treatment. 20,525 are stable out of a total of 20,724 active cases.
