Bahrain sees drop in fish prices

Bahrain Central Market is seeing reduced fish prices due to the increase of in supply along with lower demand from restaurants in the Kingdom.

Tuna has seen the largest price dip from BD22 for 25kg box last week and to BD16 for the same quantity.

The price of sheri has been reduced from BD1.5 to BD1 per kg while that of mackerel sums to around BD2 for the same quantity.

In a related development the Undersecretary for Agriculture and Marine Resources within the Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Ministry, said the violators of fishing rules will face tough punishments in the Kingdom.

Enhancing fish stocks and developing the marine environment is a top priority for the ministry.
