Bahrain: Several Filipino Nationals Repatriated to Manila

Several Filipino nationals including one minor were repatriated to Manila in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Philippine Embassy in Bahrain in cooperation with The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Bahrain Council (ABC)  facilitated the repatriation of the Filipinos, who lost their jobs with the closure of their respective companies due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Since the beginning of the health crisis, the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain has already facilitated the repatriation of a total of 218 distressed Filipino nationals.

The six OFWs previously sought the assistance of the Embassy and signified their intention to be repatriated.

Moreover, seven male detainees, four of them were recently pardoned by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and one female detainee were also repatriated on the same day. The Embassy facilitated the issuance of the deportees’ travel documents.
