Bahrain Spends 100 Million BHD on Credit Cards Every Month

In new figures in the CBB's monthly bulletin, the data shows the consumer and service spending sectors via credit cards issued in the Kingdom in new statistics that provide an indication of the level of consumption in various sectors.

Official data released by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) shows that the volume of spending via Bahraini credit cards hit 100.6 million dinars in the Kingdom. Government services, in reference to public fees and other charges, topped spending on credit cards in October by 48 million dinars, just under half of the total spending via credit cards. The volume of spending on cards issued by foreign banks in shops in Bahrain were about 25.7 million dinars, where spending on cards for tourism and hotels were about 7.7 million dinars.
