The Acting Chief Prosecutor of Ministries and Public Bodies has stated that the Second Lower Criminal Court issued its verdict today in the sale of fresh shrimps during the ban period case.
The suspect was found guilty of trading fresh, unprocessed shrimp during the shrimping ban period. He was fined BD 1000 fine.
The case documents revealed that the Public Prosecution had received a report from the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security indicating that the Fishing Ports Directorate had detected a citizen selling shrimp through the WhatsApp social media platform by advertising his shrimp for sale during the ban season. The identity of the phone user was traced, and consequently, he was referred to the court, where he stood trial and received the aforementioned verdict.
