Bahrain: Thousands of shoppers expected to visit Autumn Fair

THOUSANDS of visitors are expected to shop at the largest and most popular consumer products show on Bahrain’s calendar later this month.

The 29th edition of the annual Autumn Fair will showcase a wide range of merchandise from across the world, ranging from speciality foods to textiles, and furnishings to electrical goods.

The well-established retail fair, featuring 750 exhibitors from 18 countries, will run from January 24 to February 1 at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Sanabis.

More than 160,000 visitors are expected to attend the nine-day extravaganza, being held under the patronage of the Industry, Commerce and Industry Ministry, according to organisers UBM Arabian Exhibition Management (AEM). “The Autumn Fair is celebrating its 29th year in Bahrain with a massive range of goods and potential bargains,” said UBM AEM project manager Yaqoob Ali.

“Visitors can look forward to discovering new-to-market products exclusively at the show in addition to returning customer favourites from across the globe. “There is also a strong business-to-business element to the show.

“The Autumn Fair acts as an important sourcing venue for local companies and wholesale agreements and new partnerships will be established during the course of the exhibition.

“Numerous local businesses also regularly take part, and many offer special deals to visitors,” he said. Entry to the Autumn Fair 2018 costs BD1 and tickets can be purchased at the gate during the show’s opening hours. Children under the age of 12 years will be admitted free of charge.

The opening times are – January 24: noon to 10pm; January 25:10am to 2pm and 4pm to 10pm; January 26: noon to 10pm; January 27-30: 10am to 2pm and 4pm to10pm; and January 31 and February 1: 10am to 10pm.

On January 28 and 29, the exhibition will be open to ladies only, from 10am to 2pm.
