Air Bubble Agreement: Indians can now return to Bahrain

The Air Bubble arrangement between India and Bahrain has been operationalized to facilitate travel between the two countries, revealed the Indian Embassy Bahrain yesterday.

As per the arrangement, both Indian and Bahraini national carriers will be permitted to operate a specified number of flights between India and Bahrain and carry the certain category of passengers.

Albilad had earlier reported that India was negotiating with 13 more countries to establish separate air bubble arrangements for international flight operations including Bahrain.

Passengers travelling from India to Bahrain must be Bahrain Nationals or residents. Any Indian national holding any type of Valid Bahraini visa and destined for Bahrain will be permitted.

It would be for the airlines concerned to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian nationals to enter Bahrain with particular visa category before the issue of the ticket or boarding pass to the Indian passenger.

Passengers travelling from Bahrain to India would be Indian nationals stranded in Bahrain. All Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders holding Bahraini passports, and Bahraini nationals holding valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines dated 30th June 2020.

The designated airlines of both the sides will be permitted to sell tickets between India and Bahrain in each direction through their websites, sales agents and Global Distribution Systems.

Passengers wanting to travel are requested to check with Air India, Air India Express, Gulf Air for booking of their tickets.
