Bahrain: Total cases reach 1,040 after highest single-day increase of 115

The Ministry of Health in Bahrain recorded 24 more new cases rising today’s total to 115, which is the highest single-day increase.

Earlier, 73 cases were recorded in the morning, 1 of which is from abroad, and the remaining 72 cases that are of expat workers. and later additional 18 cases were reported.

Active cases among expatriate workers have been detected today as part of an ongoing proactive campaign to test expatriate workers in their places of residence. All the new active cases had not left their places of residence. Further preventative measures have been taken for all contacts of the new cases, including testing and precautionary quarantine to ensure their safety as well as the safety of the community.

The Ministry of Health had announced yesterday that mobile testing units, supported by Police, continue to test expatriate workers in their places of residence in Manama, Hidd, Ras Zuwayed, Aleker, Nuwaidrat, Alnuaim, Bukuwara, Salmabad, Askar and Sitra.

Currently, a total of 60,706 people have been tested and the total number of confirmed active cases is 479, amongst which 3 patients are in critical condition. To date, 555 patients have been discharged and 6 deaths have been confirmed.
