Bahrain: Two men arrested for impersonating police officers

Two men have been arrested for impersonating police officers and then detaining another person while stealing his possessions, the Ministry of Interior has announced.

The Ministry said that the Southern Governorate Police director-general reported the incident, which took place in the Ras Zuwaid area, involving the two suspects, aged 29 and 43.

The pair arrested a 33-year-old man while he was driving his vehicle, and then stole his wallet, his mobile phone and a sum of money in his possession.

The director-general noted that upon receiving a report of the incident, an investigation was carried out, which resulted in identifying and arresting the two individuals, as they were found to have been involved in another similar case.

The director-general indicated that the necessary legal measures have been taken and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
