Some social media accounts in Kuwait for the past two days have been spreading fake news on Coronavirus thinking it is normal and will go unpunished, but it is not the case. Based on facts, legal authorities confirmed that people were booked under the law for broadcasting false news.

Similarly, joking about the coronavirus and spreading false information may lead to legal consequences in the UAE, according to local media reports. Spreading unverified rumours about the number of people diagnosed with coronavirus in the country is illegal under the UAE’s federal cybercrime laws.
