The Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Eng. Esam bin Abdullah Khalaf noted that 47% of comprehensive development works in the Water Park have been completed. He assured that the Ministry gives priority to increasing the number of parks and entertainment venues and ensure their spread in various governorates as part of e with Bahrain’s Vision 2030.
The minister added that the project is unique and the ministry bears in mind its historical value to all citizens and residents. The second phase of the project will be completed in the last quarter of 2019.
With a cost of more than BD2.5 million on an area of 6.57 hectares, this includes a complete rehabilitation of the park including the re-establishment of green and water surfaces, establishment of service facilities, car parking, and a botanical garden. The park is divided into family spaces, children’s play areas, a wooden bridge, a space for sports, as well as green grasslands that cover the park.
