Bahrain: Value of national products exports increase by 99% in Q4

Bahrain’s exports of national origin products zoomed 99% to BD1.192 billion during the fourth quarter of 2021, compared to BD599 million for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Foreign trade statistics for the Kingdom of Bahrain during Q4 2021 compared with Q4 of 2020:

  • 18% Increase in the value of total merchandise imports
  • 99% Increase in the value of national exports
  • The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranks first in the volume of national exports
  • Unwrought aluminum alloys emerged as the top products exported with BD320 million
  • Decrease in the deficit value by 86%

The total value of re-export decreased by 1% to reach BD155 million in the fourth quarter of 2021, compared to BD157 million for the same quarter of the previous year. The top 10 countries accounted for 84% of the re-exported value, while the remaining countries accounted for 16%.

The trade balance, the difference between exports and imports, recorded a deficit totaling BD59 million during fourth quarter 2021, compared to the same quarter of the previous year. That is reflected positively in the value of the trade balance.
