Bahraini athlete, Abdulla Attiya was recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records for being the fastest man wearing a full military uniform in a marathon.
Abdulla broke the world record by completing the marathon in 3 hours 40 minutes and 7 seconds at ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, in Abu Dhabi, UAE on 26 November 2021. The previous record holder’s time was 3:49:21 in 2009.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records’ website, Abdulla attempted this record as a personal achievement, as an inspiration to the youth of Bahrain.
