Bahrain: Road Accident – Expat in Critical Condition
An expat was reported to be in a critical condition as he was badly injured in an accident with a 4-wheel drive car in Juffair.
Sources stated that the expat was transferred to the Salmaniya Medical Center(SMC) after the accident and was under medical supervision in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Details of the accident, which occurred on Saturday(15th February), indicated that that the man was on his way to cross the road when a male driver in a 4-wheel-drive car hit him hard. Details added that the driver, whose identity is still unknown, tried to avoid hitting, but he could not due to high speed and lack of attention.
Traffic police were present at the site and closed the road precautionary to prevent traffic jams until the ambulance car arrived and transferred the victim to the SMC.
The Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic stated that they initiated an investigation into the accident to figure out the circumstances of the incident.
