Bahraini motorcyclist to participate in Dakar International Rally

Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia 2020 begins in Jeddah on 5 January. It will be the first time this adventurous race comes to Asia, where Saudi Arabia’s desert will play host to the 7,500-km long adventure over 13 days of action and 12 stages of challenging navigation across the kingdom’s remarkable desert.

Taking place from 5 to 17 January, the first edition of the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia will see more than 550 drivers from 62 nations explore the vast and formidable desert terrains of Saudi Arabia.

The Bahraini rally motorcyclist, Salman Muhammad Hamoud, will become the first Bahraini ever to participate in the renowned Dakar International Rally. 

Hamoud will experience an exciting experience in the next version of the race, which was first launched in 1979 in Paris. This challenge is one of the strongest, most famous and most dangerous car and motorcycle racing in the world.

Salman Muhammad Hamoud started his career with motorsports since 2010 to become a champion in this type of racing after winning second and third in several local championships in addition to his multiple participation in Kuwait to make his way to the world of stardom successfully. He was selected by “Wheels of Arabia” to represent Bahrain in the race. The company has coordinated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs about his participation. He stated that the request received a great welcome and full support. He added that that was not surprising about the  Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs. He noted that the Ministry is known for its embrace and support for the youth.
