The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) General Command has confirmed that its sophisticated air defence network successfully countered a series of aggressive strikes launched by Iranian-backed entities. According to a formal communiqué released via the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the Kingdom’s military has intercepted and obliterated 74 missiles and 117 drones since the escalation began. These hostile assets were aimed at breaching Bahrain’s sovereign airspace, maritime borders, and inland territories.

Leadership at the BDF General Command voiced profound pride in the high-tier combat readiness and unwavering alertness exhibited by the frontline personnel. They highlighted the consistent operational brilliance required to maintain the nation’s security under pressure. This robust performance by the air defence units serves as a powerful guarantee to the public that Bahrain’s skies are being vigilantly guarded against all external threats.

Public Safety and Security Directives

In light of the ongoing situation, the General Command has issued a series of urgent safety protocols for all citizens and residents:

  • Stay Indoors: Movement should be restricted to an absolute necessity only.
  • Verified Information: Rely exclusively on official government platforms for news; ignore rumours.
  • Operational Security: It is strictly forbidden to film military activities or distribute unverified media.
  • Debris Warning: Avoid all impact zones. Do not touch, approach, or photograph suspicious objects or wreckage.

The BDF emphasised that official state media remains the only credible source for emergency alerts.

A Violation of International Norms

The General Command further condemned the deliberate targeting of civilian hubs and private estates using ballistic weaponry and UAVs. Such actions are labelled as flagrant violations of both international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter. By launching these indiscriminate strikes, the aggressors are posing a direct, volatile threat to the stability of the entire region.
