Bentley Motors will revive a model name from its past, 100 years after it first appeared. The company says the car will be a “rare Bentley”, a high-performance model, though it hasn’t released further details yet.
The announcement continues the direction set by the British marque’s founder, W.O. Bentley, in 1919. The company now employs over 4,000 people at its Crewe facility.
Bentley has been owned by the Volkswagen Group since 1998. It currently makes five models: the Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, Flying Spur, Bentayga and Bentayga EWB.
Under its Beyond100+ plan, Bentley intends to make only electric vehicles from 2035 onwards.
