Every single student at the British School of Bahrain who sat A-Levels this year passed. Not just that: nearly a quarter of all grades came back A*, and more than half were A*-A. For a graduating class this size, that’s the kind of year schools wait a decade for.
The numbers: 100% pass rate, 24% A*, 54% A*-A, 92% A*-C.
But the pass rate only tells you where students landed. What’s more telling is how far they travelled to get there. ALPS Education, which tracks student progress rather than just raw grades, puts BSB in the top 10% of schools worldwide for value added. In History, Psychology and the BTEC IT Diploma, the school cracked the top 3% globally. Physics, Maths, French, Computer Science, Business Studies and PE all landed in the top 10%. That’s the real story here: these aren’t just bright kids getting good grades; they’re kids who improved dramatically under BSB’s teaching.
Executive Headteacher Liz Stanley said: “These are spectacular results of which the entire school community is very proud. These results are extra special given the challenging circumstances students have faced in the region this year and demonstrate the unashamed ambition of BSB in providing the best British education in Bahrain. These results demonstrate the true value of a BSB education: that excellence is not something we aspire to when times are easy, but what we deliver when times are hard. Achieving 24% A* grades, 54% A*-A grades and 75% A*-B grades is a testament to the effort, diligence and determination of our students and the support of our outstanding teachers, day in and day out.

The Students Behind the Numbers
Hriday Dewani walked away with A* in Physics and Maths, plus As in Biology and Chemistry. He’s off to Imperial College London for Mechanical Engineering. Inspired by his family’s engineering heritage and his great-grandfather’s dream of seeing future generations study abroad, Hriday is proud to continue that legacy. Physics was his favourite subject at BSB, and he leaves with a clear ambition to use his education to make a positive contribution to the world.
Ayaan Abid scored an A* in Maths, and As in Further Maths. Biology and Chemistry. Rather than heading overseas, he’s staying in Bahrain to study Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland – Bahrain. Reflecting on his time at BSB, Ayaan said the school gave him the opportunities, support and challenges that encouraged him to aim higher than he thought possible, while also helping shape the person he hopes to become as he begins his journey in medicine.
Zainab Khemira picked up A* in Chemistry, Biology and Maths, and an A in Arabic. She’s heading to McGill to study Biochemistry. Reflecting on her A-Level journey, Zainab highlighted the years of hard work and determination behind her results, alongside the encouragement of her family, friends and teachers. She described her time at BSB as a collection of lasting memories, achievements and challenges, and leaves the school excited to begin the next chapter of her life.
Beyond the exam results, two BSB graduates, Sayed Yousif and Dana, were selected for the prestigious Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme, recognising their exceptional potential and opening the door to further academic opportunities.
Between the university offers rolling in from Bahrain and abroad, and the scholarship wins, it’s shaping up to be one of the strongest years the school has had. The success of the Class of 2026 is a testament to the ambition and determination of its students, the expertise and commitment of its teachers, and the support of families throughout their educational journey.
