The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has officially commenced its innovative project to facilitate the electronic uploading of health insurance policies. The initiative, aimed at customers seeking to renew their residence permits, goes into effect today (Friday, February 16, 2024), enhancing the ease and efficiency of the application process. Electronic uploading The project allows for health insurance policies, issued by accredited health insurance companies within the UAE, to be directly uploaded electronically through a secure linkage with these companies. This eliminates the need for residents to manually submit their insurance policies when applying for the renewal of their residence permits for themselves and their family members. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Authority, highlighted that this project aligns with the Authority’s commitment to eliminating bureaucratic hurdles in its service delivery. Real estate listings in Dubai with the Trakheesi QR code can help buyers and renters verify the listing’s authenticity. On Wednesday, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) ordered real estate agents to remove all fake property listings online within 3 working days, else they would face fines. The announcement was made following investigations conducted by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), a significant number of properties that were inaccurately listed as available for sale or rent have been identified within online listings. “We wholeheartedly support this renewed attention from the DLD. The process of a buyer or tenant verifying that a real estate listing is genuine is quite simple. They will need to go onto a property portal, to find the Trakheesi QR code alongside the property description,” Kelly said. The Trakheesi system focuses on managing various processes related to real estate licenses, permits, and the issuance of professional cards for individuals working in the real estate industry. Dubai Harbour won three prestigious accreditations from The Yacht Harbour Association, including the coveted Gold Anchor Award. This is said to be the first time in the world a harbour received three simultaneous accreditations from the Yacht Harbour Association. The other two titles are for Clean Marinas and Super Yacht Ready, a first in the region. The Gold Anchor is awarded for the credible measure of marina quality. Japan is planning to offer visa-free travel for Kuwaitis and is on the verge of introducing waivers for diplomats, said a top official. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has approved the inclusion of three new Saudi cities into its Global Network of Learning Cities: Madinah, King Abdullah Economic City, and Al-Ahsa Governorate. This addition follows the 2022 recognition of Yanbu and Jubail as industrial cities of learning, with Jubail notably receiving the award for the best educational city due to its high-quality education and commitment to comprehensive and sustainable development. With these new additions, Saudi Arabia’s representation in the network has expanded to five cities. A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck the middle of the Red Sea on Thursday morning, according to spokesman of the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS). Tariq Aba Al-Khail, the spokesman, said: “Praise be to God; the Saudi borders were not affected by this earthquake.” He elaborated that the stations of the National Seismic Monitoring Network at the Geological Hazards Center monitored this morning at 6:52: 29, an earthquake that felt in the middle of the Red Sea, with a seismic magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale, and a depth of 32 kilometers. Aba Al-Khail attributed this earthquake to the fault in the Red Sea, which represents the western border of the Arabian tectonic plate and its divergence from the African tectonic plate. Flydubai has announced the launch of four new services, growing its network in Europe to 43 destinations in 21 countries. Flydubai becomes the first UAE national carrier to operate direct flights to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) from August 2. The announcement also marks the carrier’s first entry into the Baltic region with direct flights to Riga International Airport (RIX) in Latvia commencing on October 11 as well as Tallinn Airport (TLL) in Estonia and Vilnius International Airport (VNO) in Lithuania from October 12.
