Less than a week ago, when Reuters published a bullshit fake news report meant to hammer the price of oil, “reporting” based on six anonymous sources that OPEC+ will hike oil production in October, we countered that this is “absolute idiocy, and we expect that OPEC+ will issue an official denial within minutes, especially since Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman previously said OPEC+ could pause or reverse the production hikes if it decides the market is not strong enough, which it clearly is not right now!” We didn’t have long to wait for the denial, and as we reported yesterday, ironically enough it was Reuters who reported that contrary to its own so-called “reporting” just days earlier, OPEC+ would actually delay the planned oil hike, much to the shock and horror of anyone who actually believed Reuters and saw it as an objective news source instead of a conflicted, manipulative potentially criminal generator of price volatility with its own bullshit reporting. And then it all came together less than 24 hours later when, as we expected, OPEC+ confirmed – and Reuters again reported -that not only was the original fake news report BS, but that the October hike was not coming, would be delayed […]

A court convicted and penalised the duo of committing the crime of a commercial cover-up by running a beauty parlour in the holy city of Mecca. Saudi authorities have named two women – a Saudi citizen and an Egyptian national– to shame them after a court convicted them of committing the crime of a commercial cover-up by running a beauty parlour in the holy city of Mecca. The Ministry of Commerce found evidence confirming that the expatriate identified as Mona Abdulshafi had illegally pursued her own business without obtaining a foreign investment licence by using a commercial register issued in the name of the citizen named Afia Hassan. Authorities also discovered that the expat raked in high revenues from operating the parlour and gave a paltry sum of SR500 per month to the citizen in return for cover-up. A disciplinary court issued a final ruling against both including naming to shame them, revoking the commercial register, liquidating the business, paying due taxes and deporting the expat from the kingdom.

The Ministry of Commerce announced that it will allow commercial establishments and e-stores in Saudi Arabia to give 2-week special discount for consumers on the occasion of the 94th National Day. The discount period will be from September 16 to September 30, 2024. Commercial firms and e-stores can apply electronically for the seasonal discount licenses via: sales.mc.gov.sa. The ministry reiterated that its officials will continue inspection tours of commercial establishments and e-stores in all regions across the Kingdom to verify the legality of discounts and monitor the compliance of the regulations issued by it in this regard.
