NMC: Saudi Arabia Witnessed Strongest Cold Wave In 1992 With Minus 9.3°C In Hail

Temperatures to drop below zero in northern regions in coming days According to the forecast of the National Center of Meteorology, mercury will drop and snow will fall in the northern regions of Tabuk, Al-Jouf and Northern Borders during the current mid-year school vacation The National Center of Meteorology (NMC) revealed that the most intense cold wave that Saudi Arabia had ever witnessed was in 1992. The NMC’s Hail station recorded the lowest ever temperature in January 1992 at -9.3 degree Celsius and an average of -4.4 degree Celsius, and that lasted for seven days. The NMC stated that historically, the center’s Hail and Al-Qurayyat stations topped the lowest temperatures between 1985 and 2023 during January, and that became the focus of the impact of strong winter cold waves in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia Executes 6 Iranians For Drug Trafficking

Saudi Arabia has executed six Iranians sentenced for drug trafficking. RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has executed six Iranians sentenced for drug trafficking, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. The Iranian nationals were executed in the Eastern Province after being convicted of smuggling hashish into the Kingdom. After being arrested by Saudi security authorities, the smugglers were referred to the competent court. A ruling was issued against them after their guilt was proven and they were sentenced to death. The ruling became final after it was appealed and then upheld by the Supreme Court, and a royal order was issued to enforce the punishment, the SPA said. The Ministry of Interior said that the government is protecting the security of citizens and residents from the scourge of drugs, and imposing the most severe penalties stipulated by the system on smugglers and dealers.

(SPA) RIYADH: The Ministry of Health, through health clusters, continues to provide home healthcare services throughout the Kingdom, aiming to improve the quality of living, patient experience, and provide comprehensive treatment solutions. The ministry said that basic home care services include wound and bed-sore treatment, chronic disease follow-ups, home visits, post-operative care, oral and dental health, and intravenous therapy. Additionally, new services have been introduced, such as mother and childcare, dialysis, and palliative care. The number of people benefiting from home care services has reached more than 58,000 active cases in a year, with more than 71,000 total beneficiaries since the service’s launch, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. These services are provided by 244 home healthcare departments, with more than 2,700 specialized staff members. These efforts align with the Health Sector Transformation Program and Saudi Vision 2030’s goal to enhance access to healthcare services and their quality, thereby addressing community needs. The Royal Commission for Al Ula (RCU) launches the Citrus Season 2025 from January 3 to 11 to coincide with the peak harvest period, underscoring the RCU’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and establishing Al Ula as a premier agritourism destination. The Citrus Season aims to stimulate economic growth through community-focused initiatives and sustainable development projects. It provides a vital platform for local farmers to market their produce, which yields thousands of tons of fruit annually between November and February, contributing significantly to the region’s agricultural and economic development, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). Al-Ittihad Back On Top As Club Mark 97 Years Of Glory

It is fitting that as Al-Ittihad celebrate their 97th anniversary this month, the Jeddah giants are sitting on top of the Saudi Pro League. The past is impressive. The club was founded on Jan. 4, 1927, and is one of the oldest in Asia. SFDA Warns Against Using SHTINE Bottled Water Due To High Bromate Levels

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has issued a warning regarding SHTINE bottled water, produced by Yanabi Najd Manufacturing Company in Zulfi governorate in the Riyadh region. This warning applies to all sizes, batch numbers, and production and expiration dates due to bromate levels exceeding the maximum permissible limits. The SFDA urged consumers to avoid consuming this product and to properly dispose of any remaining bottles to prevent further health risks. The authority has taken action to ensure the manufacturer withdraws all products from the local market and suspends production. The SFDA conducted tests on samples of SHTINE drinking water to ensure compliance with Saudi Gulf Technical Regulation No. 1025 for bottled drinking water, which sets the maximum permissible bromate concentration at 10 parts per billion. Laboratory results indicated that these limits were exceeded, posing potential health risks. The SFDA emphasized its commitment to public health and will continue to monitor drinking water facilities, inspect products in local markets, and enforce regulations to guarantee product safety and quality.
