Saudi records highest daily Covid-19 infections since August 2020

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday recorded 1,070 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking its highest daily toll since August 2020.

According to the Ministry of Health, 55% of the new cases are female.

The majority of new cases were detected in Riyadh with a total of 483, while 209 were detected in Mecca and 157 in the Eastern region.

An additional 940 people have recovered, taking the total recoveries to 390,538.

Meanwhile, the death toll reached 6,846 after 12 people died due to Covid-19-related complications. No information was provided on the ages of those who died or if they suffered any pre-existing conditions.
