Kuwait Intercepts Iranian Missiles and Drones

Kuwait’s Armed Forces intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones that entered the country’s airspace early today, successfully neutralizing the threats with its air defense systems. Despite the interceptions, several strikes damaged facilities in the oil, electricity, and water sectors, sparking fires and disrupting infrastructure. Authorities launched emergency response operations, with several firefighters and oil workers injured during rescue efforts. The Ministry of Defense confirmed there were no civilian casualties and said the Armed Forces remain on high alert to safeguard the country’s security and stability.

BMW Launches ChatGPT-Powered AI Vehicle Configurator

BMW has become the first automotive manufacturer to integrate its vehicle configurator directly into ChatGPT, allowing customers to design and personalise new BMW models through AI-powered conversations. Announced on July 17, the new BMW plugin enables users to configure vehicles using natural language via text or voice on smartphones and desktop computers, creating a new digital channel for customers to interact with the brand. Instead of navigating multiple menus and options, customers can simply describe what they are looking for—such as interior space, driving performance, all-wheel drive capability, ground clearance or intended use. The AI then recommends suitable BMW models and configurations based on those preferences. Users can continue refining their selections during the conversation by adjusting features including driving dynamics, running costs, exterior colour, powertrain and model variants. The AI also makes it easier to compare different configurations before finalising a choice. IRGC Targets US Command Center In Syria In Unprecedented Attack

Iran’s large-scale ‘retaliation’ on US bases and Gulf states overnight included a rare first if confirmed. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it conducted a missile or drone attack on an American special operations command center at al-Tanf in Syria on Friday. The action came after the US bombed Iran for a sixth consecutive night, and while Iranian targets have on several occasions reached into Jordan, it is unprecedented that the Iranians take active aim at sites within Syria. The IRGC stated the attack was in retaliation for the killing of Iranian soldiers in Iranshahr, in southern Iran. A humanoid robot was knocked headless during the world’s first free-combat tournament for full-sized machines, but that didn’t stop it from swinging, Newsweek reports. Israel Advances Plan For Palestinian Prisons With Crocodile-Filled Moats

The Israeli government has stripped Nile crocodiles of their protected status, paving the way for a proposal to build a detention facility for Palestinians surrounded by the reptiles, Israeli media reported on Thursday. Environment Minister Idit Silman signed a decree on Wednesday reclassifying Nile crocodiles as a “specially managed wild animal” – a new legal category that allows the state to keep the animals for security purposes, according to Israeli news site Ynet. In the decree, Silman said Israel’s security forces could now keep crocodiles under specific conditions. According to Ynet, the move went against the advice of the Environment Ministry’s legal adviser and environmental groups. The decision follows months of pressure from National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who in December proposed building a prison encircled by crocodiles. BDF On Highest Alert

Bahrain’s Defence Force (BDF) said its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missiles and drones launched toward the Kingdom on Thursday, accusing Iran of continuing unlawful attacks targeting civilians. The General Command said all military units remain at the highest level of combat readiness to protect the Kingdom. It urged the public not to approach suspicious objects or remnants from the attacks and to report them immediately to authorities. The BDF said Royal Field Engineering teams are on full alert to safely dispose of unexploded remnants, adding that attacks on civilians and private property constitute a violation of international humanitarian law.

Court Hears Terror Organisation Case Involving 17 Defendants

The High Criminal Court has begun hearing the case of 17 defendants accused of joining a terrorist organisation allegedly linked to the ideology of Wilayat al-Faqih, which prosecutors say sought to undermine Bahrain’s constitutional system and national unity. According to the Advocate General and Head of the Terror Crimes Prosecution, the defendants include 15 individuals in custody and two fugitives. Prosecutors allege the group aimed to spread its ideology through places of worship, incite rebellion against the state, promote terrorist activities, and collect funds to support its operations. The court heard the case in the presence of defence lawyers and adjourned proceedings until July 22, 2026, to allow the defence to review the case files. The court also authorised lawyers to visit their clients in custody.
