Chery Tiggo 4: Solid and technology-driven

Gulf Insider reviews the new Chery Tiggo 4.

Chery just keeps getting better with the new models they introduce.

The new Chery Tiggo 4 is an impressive compact family SUV. I drove the top of the range model which looks and feels like a quality car.

Chery is clearly making a great effort to establish itself as a high-quality brand, all be it at budget prices.

Its front-wheel drive and the 1.5-liter turbo charged engine offers nippy acceleration, along with a smooth CVT transmission.

The interior looks similar to that of a luxury German or Japanese SUV and includes wood, brushed aluminum, and soft leather with lots of classy stitching.

There’s a decent amount of passenger room in the back, along with storage pockets and air vents for improved comfort.

It’s full of all the latest technology. There’s a remote start system, HD touch screen, good sound system, 6 airbags, electric seats, camera system, 3600 monitor, sunroof, LED lights, Advanced Driving Assistance System… and more – a lot more! It has also received a five-star safety rating.

I loved the keyless entry system which will automatically unlock the car when you approach, and lock the car when you walk away (providing you have the key on your person of course).

Everything feels solid and well made. The doors have a solid feel of the type you expect to find with all high-end vehicles.

I really don’t know how Chery can offer such a high-quality car for such an affordable price. If you’re looking for a compact SUV you should at least take the Tiggo 4 for a test drive so you can see what it has to offer.
