Saudi: Children’s visit visa can be transferred to Iqama if parents hold regular residency

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) announced the possibility of transferring the child’s visit visa, who is under 18 years of age, to a Muqeem identity card (Iqama) if the parents hold regular residency.

The Jawazat stated that, the expiry of the resident’s Iqama does not preclude the possibility of extending the visitor’s visit visa.

The regulations obligate that the extension of the family visit visa must not exceed 180 day, the Jawazat said.

It has also noted that there will be a sum fine if the visit visa has not been extended after 3 days of its expiry.

The Jawazat stressed the necessity to abide by the visa instructions and the departure before it expires, while confirming, “the validity of the visa is a condition for departure”.

It is worth mentioning that the Jawazat noted that it has nothing to do in the regard of issuing and approving visit visa, and those who wish to issue a visit visa must contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
