Coronavirus: Saudi Reports 70 New Cases Today

Saudi Arabia today reported 70 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 344.

 The ministry said the new cases include 11 infected people who came from Morocco, India, Jordan, Britain, Philippines, the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland. The infected people were taken directly from the airport to the medical isolation facilities.

Out of the remaining cases, 58 came in contact with infected people, some from attending social gatherings such as marriage ceremony or family gatherings.

The ministry stated that out of the total 70 cases, 49 were reported in Riyadh, 11 in Jeddah, two in Makkah, and one in Madinah, Dammam, Dhahran, Al Baha, Tabuk, Al Qatif, Bisha and Hafr Al-Batin.

According to the ministry statement, the condition of two infected persons continues to remain critical. There have been eight cases of recovery out of the total 344 cases while the rest of them are undergoing medical treatment in accordance with the approved procedures.
