COVID-19: Bahrain announces third booster shot in next phase
The National Medical Team for Combatting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) announced the decision to give a third booster shot in the next phase of vaccination.
The dates for taking the third dose have been set according to the different categories in order to ensure the maximum benefit for each group.
Citizens and residents of age 60 years and above, and those suffering from obesity and immunodeficiency diseases will have to take the third dose after 6 months while rest of the citizens and residents after 12 months.
The booster shot can be from a different type of vaccine than the first two shots as per the recommendations of the medical team.
Registration for the third booster shot will be available through the BeAware app, as per medical protocols issued in this context.
