COVID-19: Bahrain hits record high for the second day

Bahrain registered the highest number of new cases with 1,450 cases out of 16,324 tests. Previously, the highest cases recorded were on the 5th May 2021 with 1,418 cases.

Of the new cases, 528 were expatriate workers, 903 were contacts of active cases, and 19 were travel related.

Two Bahraini women, aged 94 and 71, died yesterday, taking the death toll to 664. No information was provided if they suffered any preexisting medical conditions   

There are currently 101 cases in a critical condition, and 204 cases receiving treatment. 11679 are stable out of a total of 11780 active cases.

There were 1034 recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 170886.
