COVID-19: Bahrain records highest daily new cases

Bahrain registered the highest number of new cases with 1,418 cases out of 16,235 tests. Previously, the highest cases recorded were on 3rd April 2021 with 1316 cases.

Of the new cases, 526 were expatriate workers, 870 were contacts of active cases, and 22 were travel related.

Two Bahraini men, aged 38 and 79, a 73-year-old Bahraini woman, and two expat women, aged 81 and 58, died yesterday. This took the death toll to 662. No information was provided if they suffered any preexisting medical conditions.

There were 987 recoveries from COVID19, increasing total to 169852.

There are currently 101 cases in a critical condition, and 187 cases receiving treatment. 11265 are stable out of a total of 11366 active cases.
