COVID-19: Here’s what you need to know when flying to Bahrain

Here are some essential information you can take note of when returning to the Kingdom.

Arrival into Bahrain

  • All arriving passengers will be tested for COVID-19. 
  • All passengers must complete the Ministry of Health’s “Health Declaration Form” prior to departure to avoid delays upon arrival which will provided at check in counter
  • All passengers must download the official ” BeAware Bahrain” App prior to departure and pre-pay through the app to avoid delays upon arrival

How much are the COVID-19 tests?

  • The tests are subject to a BHD60, to be paid upon arrival regardless of the intended period of stay
  • The payment can be made through the official ” BeAware Bahrain” App, the Bahrain eGovernment Portal, or at a designated kiosk at the airport, where payment by cash or card is accepted
  • All passengers must undergo a PCR test (at their own expense) upon arrival and must remain in self  isolation until the result of the PCR test is determined; passengers that are 6 years and below are exempt from testing
  • Any passenger staying in Bahrain for more than ten (10) days must undergo a repeat PCR test on the 10th day following their arrival in the Kingdom

Movement Restrictions: 

  • Is a curfew in place? No  
  • Are there restrictions on intercity travel? No

Quarantine Information: 

  • Depending on the symptoms and risk factors, positive COVID-19 patients can either isolate at home or isolate at a private facility approved by the concerned authorities.
  • High risk, severely symptomatic individuals will be Isolated in one of the government’s assigned isolation facilities. (The Kingdom has several quarantine facilities in different locations. Infected patients get assigned to each facility on a case-by-case basis.)

Coronavirus Testing

  • Call 444 if you experience any of the symptoms related to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The hotline is available 24/7, in Arabic and English.
  • Test results can take up to 48 hours to be released, you can check the results online at the Ministry of Health’s website or through the BeAware Bahrain app.
