All incoming Saudi currencies from Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) branches abroad, via banks and money transporting companies, have been isolated, as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 infection.

This measure is being carried out in coordination with the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Wiqayah), SAMA added.

The banknotes, coins and other means of payment do not differ from the implements we use daily, like door handles, trolleys, purchases from the markets or airports, or other surfaces in public places that can pass on the infection.
