Last month a group of us visited the Domain Bahrain for their famous Friday brunch and we were not disappointed. We had both a delicious feast and a wonderful time.
The choice of food is amazing and everything is absolutely first class. If you love seafood I particularly recommend you try the oysters; “the biggest I have seen in Bahrain” according to one of our party.
There’s many different delicacies to try and enjoy from different stations at this superb all you can eat buffet. And it’s not just the food that’s unbeatable, the sparkling beverages are great and the watchful waiters and waitresses constantly refilled our flutes at just the right moment throughout the afternoon.

The Domain’s in-house sommelier, Chad, was on hand throughout the day offering expert advice for anyone seeking to perfectly pair what they drank with what they ate. The hotel GM, Frank, recognizable by his trademark brightly coloured blazer and bow tie, was also on hand.
As the name of this brunch suggests, it’s best you leave the kids at home because this is a time for the grown-ups.
The background music is lively and played just at the right volume enabling us to speak without needing to raise our voices too much. A live DJ gradually, and expertly, ups the musical tempo as the afternoon progresses.
The head barman, in addition to be able to make pretty much whatever you may ask for, also happened to be an accomplished juggler – it was fun watching him manage to keep so many bottles in the air at one time.
The views across Manama from the restaurants 34th floor vantage are stunning and further add to the general atmosphere. I’d recommend booking a table by the window, though our table was as far from the window as it could have been and it didn’t matter one bit to us.
So there you have it – amazing food, beverages, choices, atmosphere, music, service, views… and juggling! And after 4pm, when the brunch officially came to a close, the party continued upstairs in Txoko lounge for those who were having just too much fun to go home.
