Grnata Contracting, our construction division, has led the efforts on the ground, with a talented team of over 500 professionals, including 40 skilled Bahraini engineers. What challenges have you encountered during the project’s development, and how have you addressed them?
Building Golden Gate in Bahrain Bay presented unique challenges, particularly due to its prime location and ambitious design. The project features the largest concrete footing in seawater. It includes three basement levels that extend to the water’s surface, supporting two impressive towers—one soaring to 58 floors, the other to 49.
One of our biggest challenges was adhering to a strict timeline while maintaining the high quality that Golden Gate promises. To overcome this, we implemented innovative construction techniques. A key solution was the use of a specialized table system for concrete moulds, allowing us to pour over 1,000 square meters of the surface area every week, drastically accelerating our progress without compromising on quality.
We also deployed five tower cranes and ten elevators, ensuring that materials and workers could move efficiently throughout the site. This setup minimized delays and kept the project on track. In addition, we applied advanced concrete treatments to enhance durability, ensuring that the structure will stand the test of time.
Our ability to overcome these challenges has been critical in delivering the exclusive lifestyle that Golden Gate promises. As we near completion, residents can look forward to a luxury living experience in Bahrain Bay that redefines sophistication and comfort.
