Facebook planning to change its name next week

Facebook Inc. (FB.O) is planning on rebranding itself with a new name that focuses on metaverse. The name change will be announced next week, The Verge reported.

The new name—meant to encompass Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and the rest of the family—will clarify the company as a conglomerate, with ambitions beyond social media. 

Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg plans to talk about the name change at the company’s annual Facebook Connect conference on Oct 28.
