Saudi: Sports Ministry Dissolves Al-Safa Club Board For Regulatory Non-compliance

The Ministry of Sports announced the dissolution of the board of Al-Safa Club in the Eastern Region due to the club’s non-compliance with the regulations and statutes governing sports clubs.

This decision includes barring the violators from membership in Al-Safa Club or any other clubs and referring them to the relevant authorities for necessary actions.

This action follows observed violations by the Al-Safa Club’s fan association during one of the local football matches.

In a statement released early Saturday, the Ministry said: “In reference to the violations committed by the Al-Safa Club’s fan association, which contravened Article (8/1) of the basic regulations for sports clubs that stipulates adherence to the regulations and statutes in force in the Kingdom.”

According to Article (36/3) of the basic regulations for sports clubs, which states: “The Ministry may dissolve the board of directors for any of the following reasons: if actions, practices, or deeds are committed that contravene public order, public morals, or the established regulations.”

Due to Al-Safa Club in the Eastern Region’s failure to comply with the regulations and statutes that achieve the lofty goals of sports, the Ministry of Sports has decided the following: First, to dissolve the board of directors of Al-Safa Club effective from this date, in accordance with the basic regulations for sports clubs.

Second, to bar the violators from membership in the club or any other clubs and refer them to the relevant authorities for necessary actions.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of everyone’s adherence to the regulations and statutes related to sports competitions.
