A fire broke out at Wild Wadi waterpark in the Jumeirah area on Sunday afternoon, prompting swift action from Dubai Civil Defence.
The blaze, which was reported at around 1pm, was described as “minor” and was caused by plastic waste, according to a Civil Defence statement to Khaleej Times.
Residents witnessed thick plumes over the Jumeirah area. Firefighters arrived at the scene in under seven minutes, and Civil Defence personnel immediately started evacuation and firefighting operations.
Within 30 minutes, the fire was brought under control, and no casualties were reported. By 1:33pm, the authorities had started the cooling process of the fire. Authorities have since confirmed that the incident did not result in any injuries, and the situation is now under control.
