Government hospitals announced that Civil Defence successfully controlled a limited fire that broke out in one of the wards at Salmaniya Medical Complex, following the intervention of emergency teams working in coordination with on-duty medical and technical staff.
The incident was caused by a patient with a history of drug use and previous attempts at self-harm. He sustained burns, while another patient was affected by smoke inhalation. No other injuries were recorded among patients, staff, or visitors.

All necessary precautionary measures were taken, including a partial evacuation in line with approved emergency protocols, to ensure the safety of everyone in the facility.
Government hospitals confirmed that operations at the complex remain uninterrupted, and expressed appreciation to Civil Defence and all agencies involved in managing the situation. They underscored their commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards across their facilities, alongside taking the necessary legal measures.
