Bahrain: Real Estate Firm To Pay BD322,000 For Breach Of Contract

The High Civil Court has ordered a Bahraini real estate company to pay a total of BD322,000 to two individuals who purchased residential units from one of the company’s projects. The court found that the company failed to fulfil its agreement to lease the units back to the buyers for a fee, which was part of the initial contract. Additionally, the company did not complete the transfer of the units to the buyers. Principal amount The court’s ruling included the payment of the principal amount along with legal interest at a rate of 2% annually from the date of the legal claim until full settlement, as well as covering the legal expenses and attorney fees. Lawyer Rashid Al Bin Ali, representing the plaintiffs, explained that his clients had entered into a purchase agreement for the real estate units based on the company’s reputation in the market. Bahrain: Dispute Over Bounced Cheques, Unregistered Property

Bounced cheques and a broken promise to register a fully paid property have dragged a real estate company into court. The plaintiff, who paid BD87,000 for a housing unit and leased it back to the company, is now demanding the annulment of the deal and her money returned after the firm failed to meet its obligations. The arrangement saw the plaintiff buying the housing unit, renting it to the same company for BD2,175 every three months, and agreeing to sell it back by May 2025. Despite these deals, the company neither registered the property in her name nor honoured the rent payments.

Bahrain: Parliament To Debate BD500 Million Allocation For Improved Living Standards In 2025-2026 Budget

The House of Representatives is set to debate a proposal recommending the allocation of at least BD500 million (approximately US$1.32 billion) to enhance living standards within the 2025-2026 budget next Tuesday. The parliament’s Financial and Economic Affairs Committee has endorsed the proposal, urging the government to incorporate this sum into the upcoming budget bill currently under development. The proposed funds would bolster various initiatives aimed at improving living standards. These include increased funding for social security benefits, direct cash support for citizens, expanded subsidies for electricity and water, salary and bonus increases in the public sector, and a larger allocation for the employment of unemployed individuals in government roles. DXV: Dubai Approves Designs For Flying Taxi Vertiport Near DXB Airport, Flights Take Off In 2026

Dubai’s first commercial vertiport will be located near DXB airport and flying taxi journeys will be operated from next year. The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has granted technical design approval for the first commercial vertiport in the UAE. This milestone enables Skyports Infrastructure (Skyports) to continue with the development of its DXV facility, where commercial air taxi operations are scheduled to begin from 2026. Flying taxis in Dubai The Dubai International Vertiport (DXV), the facilities interim name, chosen for its location near to Dubai International Airport (DXB), is the first facility to receive design approval under the newly established UAE Vertiport Regulations. The UAE has taken Abdul Rahman Al Qaradawi into custody, following a provisional arrest warrant issued by Lebanese authorities. Abdul Rahman Al Qaradawi faces charges of engaging in activities that aim to stir and undermine public security. Meteorology Center Forecasts 3 Rainy Days In Most Parts Of Saudi Arabia

Rain of varying intensities will prevail in most parts of Saudi Arabia from January 10 to 12, the National Center for Meteorology (NCM) forecast on Thursday. In a weather bulletin, the center warned of downpours accompanied by winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, and the possibility of torrential rain and hail. High waves are to be expected along the coasts, the NCM said. The forecast said the northern regions of Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders, and Hail will have rainy conditions on Friday and Saturday. Rain is expected in Tabuk and Madinah regions on Friday, the Eastern Province, Asir, and Jazan will see rainfall from Saturday to Sunday, and in Qassim on Saturday. As for Riyadh and Al-Baha regions, rain are to be expected from Friday to Sunday. SFDA Warns Of Potential Risks Associated With High Doses Of Ginseng

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has warned against the potential risks associated with the use of ginseng (scientifically known as Panax ginseng), which is often used in alternative medicine as a general tonic to enhance energy levels and reduce stress. Consuming high doses of ginseng may cause side effects, including insomnia and high blood pressure, the SFDA said in press release. Additionally, the authority advised pregnant and lactating women to avoid using ginseng due to insufficient safety data. The SFDA also noted that ginseng may interact with various medications, including blood thinners, diabetes medications, heart medications, insomnia medications, and antipsychotics. Moreover, it can interact with caffeine-containing products such as coffee, tea, guarana, and mate. The recommended dosage is 1–2 grams of the root, taken three to four times daily for three to four weeks, with the clarification that one teaspoon equals five grams. Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, hosts this weekend the fifth round of the 2024/2025 Bahrain Rotax MAX Challenge (BRMC) at its world-class grassroots motorsport facility in Sakhir. Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) is set to welcome on Saturday, January 11, the Kingdom’s finest karting talent as they suit up for another action-packed meeting in their very own Rotax-powered challengers. And with the second half of the season now in full swing, the battle for wins, podiums, and the all-important championship points will surely intensify in each of the BRMC’s competition categories, including the Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2 MAX, and DD2 Masters.
